There’s a (very narrow-minded) belief out there that any interesting piece of art has to be “different.” I hear it all the time, and I’m not sure what it means anymore — the qualities that make something unique. In fact, this kind of thinking — that any song worthy of your time must sound like no other band on the universe — makes music cold and quantifiable, and I don’t want to live in that world.
Miner, from Los Angeles, is a new band I dig. Listen to “Hey Love” below, and like the hell out of their page on Facebook if you want.
