Everything that needs to be said about Nashville’s Night Beds has been said by people smarter and better spoken than me, but last night’s show at the Local 506 just supported all the great stuff I’ve heard — the lush twangy dreamscapes, the absolute way Winston Yellen’s voice stops you in your tracks. A surprising, dark, comforting set.
Los Angeles-by-way-of-New Jersey rocker Jenny O. opened the set, and her new record, Automechanic — a reference to teaching herself to repair her car — is truly fantastic, cheeky self-referential intelligent indie pop. (You can stream it at her Bandcamp.)
