Before the first encore last night (there were two) at The Pageant, Neko Case said it was time for a “sexy ballad.” She and The New Pornographers delivered with “Challengers,” which led into “Dancehall Domine” and “The Bleeding Heart Show.” They said their goodbyes, people started leaving…it was over, right? Wrong. Two more songs: “Sing Me Spanish Techno” and “The Slow Descent Into Alcoholism.” It was that kind of night.
