If you went back and compiled the most used words in my concert reviews from the last six years, I bet you dollars to donuts that “joy”, “connection”, and “energy” are probably the most used. Because that’s what I look for in a live performance, joy and a connection between the performers and the audience, and energy on stage will never go wrong. I happily got all three on Friday night when Langhorne Slim & the Law stopped at the Cat’s Cradle in Carrboro, supporting his latest excellent album The Spirit Moves.
