This past Tuesday, Circa Survive brought the angst to Cannery Ballroom along with Balance & Composure as well as a small helping of CHON, an instrumental progressive band from San Diego.
CHON completely wowed the crowd for the people that had never heard of them, but they brought along their own group of fans. The 4 piece group released their new full-length record, Grow, last week.
Balance & Composure has been touring to support their last record, The Things We Think We’re Missing, since late 2013, and brought an emotional set to open for their friends in Circa Survive.
Lastly, Circa Survive’s set was not for the light hearted. As soon as Anthony Green hit the stage, the entire crowd pushed up against the barricade to attempt to get closer to touching Green’s sweaty fingers. Within seconds, the crowd immediately started fist pumping and a large number of fans began crowd surfing. The room was singing along with Green at the tops of their lungs the entire show. Circa Survive seriously knows how to get their fans excited with electric guitar solos and Green handing the audience his mic several times.
Circa Survive will continue touring with Balance & Composure and CHON throughout April in the US before they head to the UK with From Indian Lakes and RX Bandits. Their recent record, Descensus, released in November of 2014 through Sumerian Records. Please enjoy these photos by Kristen Abigail below.
