Northwest guitar pop, like brunch, comes in many forms. It can be bright and shiny like some poached eggs sided by a lil’ cantaloupe. It can be heavy and bloated like some pain perdu topped with homemade creme fraiche.
In the case of S’s “Brunch” its best comparison is probably Quiche Florentine and one of those fancy Bloody Mary bars with all the fixins. Dark but fun — it’s a pretty awesome first listen of what Jenn Ghetto has been cooking up recently.
I’m now hungry for both morning food items AND her new album “Cool Choices.” Both, I believe, will satisfy the soul.
