Canadian duo Purity Ring have only released three singles in the year or so that they’ve been making music together, but it is easy to see why these offerings (including prior tracks “Lofticries” and “Ungirthed“) have the web abuzz and ablog with excitement over their odd brand of electro-pop. Their latest effort is “Belispeak,” a three minute digital creeper that is chilling and eerie in all the right ways. The spookily heavy constitution of the track, dropped by Corin Roddick, serves as a an ideal pairing to the beautifully phantasmal vocals of Megan James.
“Belispeak” (listen below) will get an official release on October 10th as part of a split 7-inch record with Fat Possum labelmates, Braids. While you wait for that choice vinyl, download all three Purity Ring tracks over at Gorilla vs. Bear.
