You know how sometimes, when you’re driving down an empty highway on an overcast winter’s day, totally lost in your thoughts, and a song comes on the radio, and you jump to attention and think, “Man, if this were a scene in a movie, and this song was the soundtrack to that scene, it would be a damn good scene?”
You know?
Recently, I was driving down an empty highway, on an overcast winter’s day, and “Pistol Dreams” brought me out of my daze. I realized it was (again) the perfect accompaniment to my life’s film reel. Kristian Mattson, aka The Tallest Man on Earth, makes me want to get up and do something when he sings, “Throw me in the fire now, come on!” Do what, I don’t know. Wash the dishes, press the gas pedal to the floor, climb a mountain. This lyric alone burns deep into my being, and it makes me want to change my life in all the ways my life currently needs changing.
