This isn’t a new one — Dar Williams released Emerald, on which “Slippery Slope” is found, back in May — but Dar is an artist who I loved passionately for much of my teens and twenties whose new music doesn’t always hit my radar timely. A dear, dear friend turned me on to Emerald‘s release last weekend, and I can’t get enough of it right now. “Slippery Slope” is a simply deceptive duet in the best style of “In Spite Of Ourselves”, and it’s the sort of gentle love song that makes me smile secretly to myself these days.
Stream it below, and if you’re new to Dar, be thrilled that you have some amazing older albums to dig into, as well.
