On Sunday evening, Neko Case brought her current tour in support of her latest album, The Worse Things Get, The Harder I Fight, The Harder I Fight, The More I Love You, to The Pageant in St. Louis. Although somewhat slowed by a migraine, or an “eye worm,” as Case kept referring, the singer-songwriter’s voice sounded just fine on older songs like “Maybe Sparrow,” “The Pharoahs,” and “Hold On, Hold On,” and newer songs like “Calling Cards” and “Ragtime.” It’s a damn shame she didn’t perform “Nearly Midnight, Honolulu,” but perhaps that was too heavy for a Sunday.
