Girl In A Coma brought their high-energy pop-punk to a small but enthusiastic crowd at Local 506 last week; the San Antonio trio continues to tour behind their excellent LP Exits & All The Rest, but they dropped a new song or two into the set in Chapel Hill, perhaps a sign that a follow-up to that record is in the works. Singer and guitarist Nina Diaz has one of the greatest voices in punk today, swooping from the growl of Kathleen Hanna to the purr of Martha Reeves in the same song, and she and her band were in fine form in North Carolina
Girl In A Coma continues a headlining tour across the US, and you can check out their remaining dates on their website. They’re worth catching live, for certain.
The rest of the show, including opener the Honorable South, is captured on Flickr.
