If you’re here at LouFest, Area K is a must. I just got back from catching a few minutes of Dubb Nubb, who’s now a trio, and while the stage is sort of small, the sounds coming from it are not. Sisters Hannah and Delia Rainey showed why they were picked to play this year’s festival — their songs are catchy, and their stage presence is sweet. And, they started singing about winter as soon as I walked up to the stage. I wouldn’t mind a cool breeze, I tell ya.
The picture above represents the heart and soul of LouFest, Kings Go Forth. Holy. Shit. People. They are the perfect festival band because of their energy and their “I don’t care what you think about us” disposition. Hearing them perform live was a nice switch from rock to funk and soul; they’re worth grooving and sweating to, even in this direct heat. The highlight of the festival so far, in my humble opinion.
Onward.
