The Breedings are Tennessee siblings Erin and Willie Breeding, and “Calm” is the first single off their upcoming LP, Fayette. It’s a shivery country pop song that’s built entirely around Erin’s astounding voice, and teeters between lush heartbreak and plain old fashioned stark and simple heartbreak.
If the rest of the record is this good, it’ll be in my end of the year best of, just like their 2011 Laughing At Luck. Stream the video below, and keep an ear out for the album. Lots of great new off-the-beaten-path music is coming out of Nashville right now, and the Breedings are one of those great things.
