Before Neko Case regularly started  playing The Pageant in St. Louis, which she’ll once again do this Sunday, October 20th, we watched her sing at Off Broadway, sometimes with our legs crossed, sitting on the floor. That really happened, but that is not today.

Today, Case is a star, and all the accolades are well-earned. Her new album has a tongue-twisting title: The Worse Things Get, The Harder I Fight, The Harder I Fight, The More I Love You. It’s a moving listen, with songs like “Nearly Midnight, Honolulu,” “Where Did I Leave That Fire,” “Night Still Comes,” and “Calling Cards” leading the way. Let’s have a listen.
