From friends to strangers, or from lovers to strangers, the transformation often happens in an instant. What we’re left with is anyone’s guess, but there is a hole to fill, and like Ryan Adams once sang, “What do you do? How do you keep love alive?“
I think that’s what Ontario-based singer-songwriter Megan Bonnell is getting at here — we receive love, we lose love, we lament love. Love — in whatever form — becomes a stranger. How do you ever keep it alive?
