10 to Spin | Dreamers of the Ghetto

A few months back, we gave Dreamers of the Ghetto’s, “Tether,” Jam of the Day honors for a simple reason: the song freaking kills. Then, we stood front row at the Hopscotch Music Festival as they did the impossible by more-than-holding their own as one of the opening slots for the mind-fuck that is a Flaming Lips show.

Well, now they are doing us the favor of curating a 10 to Spin – just in time for all you folks to head into the weekend, and go where you go to celebrate the best damn non-holiday out there. And after compiling, and listening to, the songs below, I can honestly say I can hear pieces of Don Henley, Prince, Tom Petty and Roy Orbison in their music, weirdly enough.

And as a reminder, go buy their debut album, Enemy/Lover, right now if you have not. It has been on constant rotation at Speakers in Code headquarters this fall.
