Dreamers of the Ghetto are a family band from Indiana, consisting of brothers Luke and Jonathan Jones, Luke’s wife, Lauren, and then some guy named Marty. After teasing us blogs with kick ass, homemade video clips for the past year, they have quickly become one of the most eccentric, but perhaps promising bands out there today.
DOTG have sculpted a sound that is both timeless and nostalgic, creating an earnest soul and refreshing lack of self awareness in their music. They are the true, pure, yet unconscious spirit of rock ‘n’ roll. And led by Jones, who is as tall as he is an enigmatic and powerful front man, they have more than enough to grab the shit out of people’s attention.
Dreamers of the Ghetto will finally unleash their debut album, the stunning Enemy/Lover, in October, but you can get an early taste by downloading our Jam of the Day, “Tether,” below. Just remember where you heard it first!

You can also check these guys out as they take the big City Plaza stage at the Hopscotch Music Festival, on Saturday night, just before Superchunk and The Flaming Lips. Not too shabby for a group who hasn’t released an album yet, huh?
